On October 21, the Ningxia Service Center of China’s Hematopoietic Stem‑Cell Donor Registry was officially inaugurated at the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University. Officials from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, medical specialists and community representatives attended the ceremony.
For many years the Ningxia Red Cross Society has promoted the “Heart‑to‑Heart + Life‑Education” program. To date the registry has entered 39,600 volunteers, facilitated 160 stem‑cell donations and saved the lives of 154 patients with blood‑related diseases.
