On September 27, a light rain fell over the plaza of the Qinghai International Exhibition Center in Xining as the municipal Sports Bureau and the Chengzhong District People’s Government hosted the “Beautiful Countryside · Happy Xining” Thousand‑Rider Cycling Event together with the Chengzhong District Farmers’ Harvest Festival. About 1,000 cycling enthusiasts set off from the starting line and rode a 16‑kilometre countryside route.
On either side of the course the poplar trees turned a bright gold, and villagers—parents, grandparents, and children—cheered from the roadside. The riders, the villages, and the natural landscape felt as one.
